What Is Wheel Alignment?

What is wheel alignment?
A part of car maintenance is wheel tracking or alignment and it sets your tyres direction and angle according to the specifications of the manufacturer.
We use socialist equipment to accurately adjust the front wheels in a 2 or 4 wheel drive vehicle. They need to be aligned to prevent quick wear and tear of your tyres, keep the vehicle economical and most important you and your passengers safe. You should have this checked regularly.
Do I need wheel alignment?
If you find upon inspection that your tyres are wearing unevenly or when driving you find it is pulling one way or the other, then this is a sign of wheel misalignment and should have it looked at by us. Give us a call or send us an email for details.
Watch out for:
- Uneven tyre wear.
- Pulling to one side.
- Steering wheel vibration.
- Scrubbing or squealing noises.
- If the tyres are pointed inward at the front ‘toed in’ you will see wear on the outside of the tyre. If it is pointing inward at the front ‘toed out’ the wear will be shown on the inner of the tyre. Different vehicles all require a different toe setting so having it set right is important.
As well as this the misalignment of the wheels can also effect braking distance, driving quality and fuel efficiency.
